DOP’s Perspective:
This shoot was all about keeping things real but elevated. I wanted the car to feel cinematic without losing its presence in the environment, and the Cooke SP3 lens kit helped me get there. Paired with the Sony FX6, it gave me images that felt textured, warm, and emotionally grounded.

The SP3s added a softness that felt intentional, not hazy, and gave the footage a natural richness that didn’t need much work in post. It made the car feel aspirational but still tangible, which was exactly the tone I was going for.
We worked only with handheld, sticks, and gimbal for this shoot, so having a lightweight lens set made a big difference. The SP3s were easy to work with across all setups and let me move quickly without compromising on image quality. That kind of flexibility is a huge win on fast-moving shoots like this.
What stood out to me most was how consistent the lenses felt across different lighting situations. From harsh sun to overcast moments, the look held together without needing a lot of correction. It gave me the confidence to stay in the moment and trust what I was seeing through the viewfinder.
I’d happily use this kit again. It supported the way I like to work – lean, responsive, and focused on capturing something that feels honest but still beautiful.
