This project was designed around dynamic, floating camera movements to create an immersive visual experience. To support this kinetic visual style,
I chose to shoot on the DJI Ronin 4D, a system that offers both mobility and precision through its integrated gimbal and advanced stabilization.
Paired with the Cooke SP3 lens kit, the Ronin 4D delivered a compact, lightweight setup that allowed for seamless handheld and gimbal work without compromising on image quality. The SP3 lenses were the perfect match for this approach their cinematic character, gentle contrast, and refined focus fall-off elevated the visual texture, while their light form factor complemented the fluid motion of the Ronin system.
The SP3s enabled a variety of creative camera movements glides, orbits, and long takes while maintaining a consistent and organic look. Their warm, filmic rendering brought depth and subtlety to the image, which was essential for keeping the visuals emotionally engaging, even during technically complex shots.
For the lighting design, I explored the full spectrum of color to shape the emotional tone of each scene. Using Aputure’s LED fixtures, I was able to dial in precise hues and intensities, whether it was subtle color accents or bold, stylized looks.
The flexibility and color accuracy of the Aputure lights were instrumental in supporting the project’s visual language.
From soft ambient washes to hard key highlights, the lighting helped define the rhythm and flow of the moving shots, creating a cohesive aesthetic that matched the energy of the camera work
