I shot this KIKO spot on the Arri Alexa Mini LF, a camera I have been using since its release. I love they way it renders skin tones and highlight and I like to pair it with Cooke lenses often.
The Cooke S8s are great for beauty work as they are very sharp, but have a softness on skin, something that is unique. They also work very well in high-key lighting, something often used in beauty work, as they have a real control of the highlights and get the most from the Alexa sensor.
My go-to lens is the 65mm, it renders the image as I see it standing on set, something I always like to do and for a lens that is at the wider end of ‘normal’ the S8 65mm has no distortion, I can even shoot close-up with it.
