DOP’s Perspective:
Cooke SP3s have become my go-to lenses whenever I’m working with nimble cameras like the FX6 or FX3.
What amazes me is how Cooke has managed to bring that unmistakable “Cooke Look” into such a compact set of lenses. The way they render skin tones feels organic and alive, and the bokeh is soft, never distracting just the kind of pleasing character I’m always searching for.
For this particular music video, the track itself was soft and melodic, and I wanted the visuals to mirror that same mood.
The Cooke SP3 struck the perfect balance… just the right amount of sharpness, while still carrying a gentleness in the image. It’s that combination of precision and warmth that makes me reach for them over other small-format lenses.
