I like the “Cooke look”, it’s funky yet classy, elevates the image, catches the flares in a nice, “buttery” way, has good depth of field and variety of sizes.
We also had a few crane days with two cameras and quite tight schedule, so wanted to make sure I can get matching zooms to help to keep up with the schedule and not change the lens and rebalance every time.
A lot of the explosions were done in camera, but we also had a few extra go on a green screen and a separate day of explosions shot in a studio, just to have options to enhance things in post, so it was very important to be able to have data and that all lenses match colour wise, and I am very pleased with the ease of the process and results.
