DOP’s Perspective:
– Since the song is about ‘Sukoon’ which means peace, amid emotional turmoil, we wanted to show separation from foreground to background through shallow depth of field. Cooke S7/I and red ranger monstro 8k VV have is the nice shallow depth of field when desired.
– The lenses gave us the flexibility in lighting because the lens is fast (T2.0) and the camera sensor handles low light and dynamic range well. We could shoot in various lighting situations, dim and mixed lighting while controlling the exposure and maintaining the image quality.
– Overall, it gave us a pleasing warm look (Cooke look) with natural skin tones and smooth fall off from sharp in focus to soft out of focus.
