We chose the Cooke S8/i lenses with the Sony VENICE 2 because we wanted an image that feels cinematic without feeling artificial. The S8/i gives us the perfect balance between modern optical precision and the organic character of the Cooke Look: beautiful skin tones, controlled highlights, natural contrast, and a smooth focus fall-off.
Paired with the VENICE 2’s full-frame sensor, the lenses give us depth, dimensionality, and an intimate connection to the characters while maintaining consistency throughout the series. The goal is not simply to make the image sharp – it is to make the image feel.
