I have grown to love the Cooke SP3s as my go to lenses for my Ronin 4D package.
For this documentary we loved the idea of constant movement of the camera, to emphasise our protagonist’s, Gareth Ward, constant strive for perfection. Therefore, we settled on the Ronin 4D as our main camera, and the SP3s were the perfect partner.
They have such a beautiful falloff and softness to them, and I rarely use them with any kind of filter.
In addition for this film, using the M-Mount for them I was able to mount them onto my Alexa Mini with an adapter as an extra camera for the interview, without having to resort to another set of lenses.
