For Raaz by Zaeden, my visual intention centered around creating a warm, intimate and emotionally comforting world. The narrative demanded a sense of closeness, softness and a gentle texture, and from the earliest stages of prep I knew that the Cooke Look would align perfectly with this tone.

Cooke lenses have a unique ability to render skin tones with natural warmth while maintaining an organic sharpness that feels cinematic without ever becoming clinical.

I chose Cooke glass specifically for its characteristic falloff, subtle contrast and the way it adds dimensionality to even the simplest compositions.

The lenses supported the emotional direction of the music video by giving the frames a tactile softness and a depth that complemented our lighting approach which used diffused warm sources designed to enhance the cozy mood of the story.

Their highlight rolls off, and gentle handling of practical lights preserved the ambience we wanted allowing the visuals to feel honest and immersive. Practically, the Cooke consistency across focal lengths gave us a smooth workflow and let me shift perspectives without losing the tonal quality of the image. The 32 mm and 50 mm became key focal lengths allowing us to stay physically close to the artist while maintaining a natural sense of space.

Overall, using Cooke was not just a technical choice but a storytelling one. Their warmth, texture and emotional clarity played a major role in shaping the final visual identity of Raaz.
