DOP Zaikov Alexey on his camera and lens choices

“It’s the story of complex, dynamic woman, Hope, who has a hidden history rooting back to when she was young and who now lives now a double life. One of loving mother and wife to her unsuspecting family, but she also has an inescapable alter-ego as a ruthless and successful contract killers. That she is trying to find a way out off whilst desperately trying to save her family and to find her way out of.

After selecting the RED Monstro, I shot some tests on Cooke S7/i supplied by Kinotehnika in Moscow. They were a perfect match for both the technical and creative issues that this production required. Since I was only going to be covering super 35 format on the RED Monstro. The S7/i lens series created a very beautiful look to the dark tonality which was ever present in this production. My go to lens for the series were the 25 mm and 40 mm which always delivered, giving a dynamic look and fell across the entire series.
