DOP Tim Sessler on the lens of his choice:
“For NOS Overdrive we were looking to push the look for both the narrative opening, as well as the high action driving. The Cooke SF anamorphic look was the perfect balance of character, beautiful flares in the Nevada desert and being reliable to the fast pace we were moving at. Primes were used for the Motion Control work (Camera Controls KOBRA arm) as well as all the handheld work. The zoom lived exclusively on Filmotechnics U-Crane.
The wide angle SF anamorphic primes worked amazingly for our motion control work without introducing too much distortion and the zoom is one of my favorite focal lengths for arm car work. 35-140mm is the perfect range for close up, wide angle work and also having enough of a standard and telephoto range to get the most out of each setup.”
