DOP Benedict Spence on his lens choice:
“Director Lucy Forbes and I were very keen to keep as much lighting off set as possible, thereby giving the cast as much space as possible. Because of this I knew we needed fast lenses, especially since there were some night exteriors, which would have required a lot of big lamps if we wanted to fully light them. The show is all about Bethan, a young girl who lies to her friends to hide her difficult home life. The camera is always with Bethan, with the show essentially being a 25 minute portrait of her. As such I knew I wanted lenses that would treat her well and have a touch of magic. With all those requirements there was only one option; the Cooke 5i!”
