DOP Matt Glen on his lens choice:
“We were shooting in Mexico city and Madrid and wanted to really capture the vista of the cities whilst also bringing the panoramic nature of a football stadium into a cinematic realm. I knew the Cooke anamorphics would give me good sharpness but keep the faces soft and the eyes sharp, which is my favourite combo. We needed to shoot some of the stadium interiors with the A7sii as we needed a very small footprint whilst the game was on, so we used the S4’s for this and it allowed us to keep the look whilst being very flexible in terms of capturing what we needed. The anamorphics pushed our producers budget and took a bit of convincing but the he agreed afterwards that it was worth every penny. ”
